This conference explains principles and uses of the Linear Mirror, of which an example is shown in the Biblioteca Statale garden.
The Linear Mirror is a very simple system for providing concentrated solar energy also at northern latitudes and also in winter. It is well suited for the industrial application and can make an important contribution for the substitution of fossil fuels. On the one hand it is the most modern and innovative solar technology. On the other hand it was probably already used by Archimedes but has remained in oblivion for more than 2000 years.
Speakers: H. Grassmann (University of Udine), M. Citossi (University of Udine), A. Piani (A&T2000).
Fisics&Art against CO2 is project of public engagement in science and technology promoted by the University of Udine and other partners, which includes an exhibition, conference and workshops to promote interest, knowledge and reflection on renewable energies.
From 16 years up
The conference will also be broadcasted by streaming.
