Area Marina Protetta di Miramare - Viale Miramare 345, Trieste
The WWF Marine Protected Area of Miramare and the ARPA del Friuli Venezia Giulia offer a series of snorkeling excursions aimed at the general public at the Marine Protected Area of Miramare. Thanks to the staff of AMP Miramare and to the use of underwater cards for species recognitions, the public will be involved in several scientific activities to observe, recognize and take a census of marine organisms living on the reef and on the sandy and muddy seabed of the Reserve
There will be three different focuses of the visual census, according to the different dives:
1) census of Pinna nobilis, the largest bivalve in the Mediterranean Sea;
2) census of fishes and jellyfishes;
3) census of algae and sessile invertebrates, i.e. anchored to the seabed.
The excursions will be preceded by an explanatory briefing at BioMa, the museum of the AMP Miramare at the ex-Castle Stables.
Free entrance with booking required. For reservations, please call 0039040224147 from Monday to Friday (int. 3) from 10 am to 1 pm or write at email@example.com.
Participants must have their own snorkel mask.
